A tablet or phone at your checkout should help your team work faster, not slow them down. At the same time, it is a valuable device that you do not want to lose. GRiPZO combines both. Our mechanical mounts keep POS tablets and phones locked in place, and staff release them with a key in seconds.
What an insecure or clumsy mount costs you
When a POS device is stolen, you lose more than the device. The checkout is out of action, customers wait and staff have to arrange a replacement. But a mount that is hard to use also costs you. If staff struggle with tangled cables or complicated locks every time they need the device, those small delays add up over a day.
Three types of POS security compared
Mechanical mounts
These mounts use a mechanical lock and sturdy grips. The device is locked in place and staff release it with a key when needed. There are no electronics, cables or alarms, so there is little that can go wrong. This is the approach GRiPZO takes.
Fully closed enclosures
Enclosures cover the whole device and stay fixed in one place. They protect well, but staff cannot take the device with them when they need it elsewhere.
Mounts with built-in electronics
Some systems combine security with charging or data connections in the mount. That can be convenient, but every electronic part is something that can fail and take your checkout offline.
Features that save your team time
- Quick release. Staff lock and release the device in seconds, for example for mobile use or at closing time.
- A firm hold. Adjustable steel grips keep the device in place, so staff do not have to keep an eye on it.
- Adjustable fit. One mount fits many tablets and phones, so you do not need new hardware every time you upgrade.
- No electronics. A fully mechanical mount has nothing to charge or reset.

Choosing the right mount
Ask yourself a few simple questions. Where do things slow down at your checkout? How often do staff need to take the device off the counter? And do you need extra features, or mainly a mount that is reliable and easy to use? If speed and reliability matter most, a mechanical mount is usually the most practical choice.
Frequently asked questions
Will a mechanical lock slow down transactions?
No. The device stays in the mount during normal use. Releasing it with the key only takes a moment when needed.
Does it fit our tablets?
The grips are adjustable and fit a wide range of tablets and phones. With the standard and XL mounts, tablets from 7 to 13 inches fit.
Can staff still take the device with them?
Yes. With the quick release, staff take the device out of the mount in seconds and lock it back when they return.
