Retail shrink is the stock a store loses to theft, damage and error. For electronics stores, display devices are the most exposed part of it. The most direct fix is to lock every display device mechanically to the table, so it cannot be taken without a key.
Why display devices are a target
A display phone or tablet is small, valuable, easy to resell and placed within reach on purpose. A thief does not need to open a cabinet or pass a counter. That makes the display table the first place to look when shrink goes up.
Five steps that reduce shrink on the display
- Lock the device, not only the cable. Alarm cables can be cut. A steel bracket that holds the device itself cannot be defeated with scissors.
- Remove what can fail. A mechanical lock has no sensors, batteries or alarm units that can break or be switched off.
- Make closing time easy. If storing devices at night takes long, it gets skipped. With a key release, staff remove a device in seconds.
- Secure every device type. Thieves pick the weakest spot. Cover phones, tablets, smartwatches and laptops, not only the flagship phones.
- Keep the display usable. Security that hides the product costs sales. Customers should still be able to pick up, turn and test the device.
Where GRiPZO fits
GRiPZO makes mechanical brackets for phones, tablets, smartwatches and laptops on display. The grips are hardened steel, adjustable to the device, and fixed to the display with security screws, studs and nuts, or two-component adhesive pads. There are no electronics, alarms or cables.
Start with one table
You do not have to refit a whole store at once. Secure the table with the most expensive devices first and compare the losses. For advice on which brackets fit your display, email info@gripzo.com.
